Traffic pattern....

I take a look at the traffic pattern to this blog. most of them were searching about scratch built, top coat and paint tutorial.

That's mean many people this kind of stuff.

First: painting.
no tutorial for this yet. Not in my blog. I'm still learning. I also read many books about painting. And I will try to use airbrush.

I found some searching for "how using Gundam marker". I have some tips about that and some scans. Will post it later.

Second: Top coat

I given some scans about this before. It really simple. Not very hard. But one point to remember. you don't need to buy many top coat spray, because if your method are right, you can save a lot. That's what a man who run a model shop at Berjaya Times Square (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) told me.

Last: Scratchbuilt

For me, this is very high level in modelling. In my opinion, it will use a lot of money. But the result is promising.

A good skill will result a good work. And you can be rewarded too.

-I found a guy who likes modelling. He sells many models that are assembled and painted through an auction site here. A VF-25 (from Macross F), were sold at nearly 70000 yen.

New Items Arrived

Its have been a long time this blog not updated since April 25th. About 4 month!

And in this 4 month period, I have been buying new models and non of them were assembled yet. What a waste of money.

And I don't stop. I successfully bought some new kits last week. And arrived 2 hours before this post were written.

It's a very big box. About 40X50X20 cm.

And it's time to open the box.

And the picture above shows what inside. 9 kits total.

There are kits from Sakura Taisen game siries, Koubu kai. A mecha that move using the power of steam.

As you can see, there are 7 boxes (left from above: Orihime, Maria, Sakura, Ohgami. Right from above: Sumire, Kohran, Iris). And 2 not with boxes (Orihime and Sakura).

In the game, it should have 9 character. Not in the list are Kanna and Leni. I can use one of the kits that not have boxes to built Kanna's Koubu Kai. But for Leni, I maybe have to buy another one called Koubu Kai MultiPlex because it is difficult to make the weapon (kanna don't use weapon so...not a big problem).

This Multiplex speciality is you can built 1 of the 9 characters Koubu Kai using 1 kits in 1 box only. But you have to color it.

I spend about 6000yen for these. And I have planed to buy Koubu F, Koubu and also Star total to 18 all of them.

Now, I have worry where should I keep these......

My "pet"...The new HARO!

I pre-order this HARO since last year, but when the date is just around the corner, the shop has been banned from Yahoo!JP (it's an online shop). How could this happened to me? Good thing that I not pay for it yet.

So, I rush to a model store last week to buy this HARO. Just cost me about 3000 yen.

Why I want to buy it so much? One of my reason is, I am a fan of haro. It's...round.. :)

But the main reason is, I want a pet to talk to. Pet are not allowed in this building where I live. If I can, I want a cat.

Haro, cannot talk just like human. Only give responses to sound. But its more better than my Pocket PC which cannot give any responses to my voice... : (

Gundam Modelling Tutorial (using top coat)

I'm not an expert in modelling, in fact this is my first time using top coat. And it is not disappointing for me to spend my money for top coat.

I believe many modellers out there use top coat for finishing their models. The purpose of using top coat is to prevent paint from scratching off easily.

But after reading some books, I found that top coat can 'hide' little scratch as result of sanding.

All my models are brush painted (no enough money to buy airbrush), and the major problem of brush painting is, the paint isn't smooth as painting using airbrush. This can be seen when painting a big area.

So, for those who brush painted their models and had same problems like me, you should try using top coat.

The picture above is a part from my HG Strike Noir. You can see the surface isn't smooth (if you can't, click on it).

And this is after I sprayed it with top coat. Its so smooth as airbrush painting.

But, there are 3 types of top coat, and there are also Mr. Super Clear that do the same job. Which one to use? What is the difference?

Point no.1 - both top coat and Mr. Super Clear has 3 types: Flat/Matt, Semi-Gloss, and Gloss.

Above is comparison of lightning between the 3 types. Above: Gloss, Middle: Semi-Gloss, Bottom- Flat・Matt.

I prefer flat because for me, Gundam is not a sports car. I don't like glossy Gundam. But everyone have their own opinion.

And above is the comparison between Top Coat [A] and Mr. Super Clear[B] (both flat).
Left line is painted using Gundam marker, middle:Hobby Color, right: Mr. Color.

Another problem is, Top Coat take a very long time to dry.

There are also many infos on top coat if you search the internet.

Enjoy modelling!

Tetsudou Wakuwaku Flea Market

I waited for this event called "鉄道わくわくフリーマーケット" (tetsudou wakuwaku flea market).

This event is a annual event, held at OBP (Osaka Business Park) usually at early January. This year is the 3rd year.

However, I felt that the last year event is more interesting than this time. I only went for less than an hour(!).

Compared to last year event, this time there is less shop that sell model train. More of them sell collectible goods such as tickets and train head mark.

But this year they have a big company (not a sponsor) join the event. And a LGB layout.

A Layout Outside The Event Area (N Gauge)

-A big display (there is a camera in one of them)

Package received

One thing that make me more happier when celebrating New Year is a big envelope in my postbox. It is not an ordinary letter, it is actually the parts (which I lost it) that I ordered by post last week.

I'm not expecting I will received it this fast. Many people told me that I will receive the ordered parts about 2 or more weeks. But I receive it less than a week (I sent the order form through post in Christmas).

Well, its mean that my Strike Noir will finished early than expected and I can start making another Gunpla.
